Provincial – 4‑Day Option
High‑Performance Stream
The Provincial Training groups form the core of our high‑performance development pathway and are designed for swimmers working toward or progressing beyond Ontario Age Group (OAG) qualifying standards. The 4‑Day Option is ideal for swimmers showing reliable attendance, a strong work ethic, and commitment to training with intent while building toward Provincial‑level performance.
Swimmers are selected by coach evaluation, which considers:

A Swimmer & Parent Agreement and completion of the Parent Respect in Sport module are required before joining.
Training in this group emphasizes:

Structured aerobic endurance sets
-
Kick endurance and stroke-specific training
-
IM skill development
-
Speed work and race execution practice
-
Goal setting, meet warm‑ups, and logging to promote personal accountability
Training Load: 4 sessions/week (~7 hrs total)
Dryland: ~0.5 hrs/week (movement prep, core, and activation) Schedule TBD – optional additional dryland may be available at extra cost
Schedule:

Tuesdays: 6:30–8:30 pm

Thursdays: 8:15–9:15 pm

Fridays: 4:15–5:45 pm

Saturdays: 7:00–9:00 am
Season: September – End of June
Group Goals:
By the end of the season, swimmers will:

Progress toward consistent Provincial‑level standards

Contribute to relays with strong team commitment

Improve race execution and technical skills under training load

Demonstrate maturity in training, including consistent logging, goal setting, and meet preparation

Show readiness for increased volume and intensity in the 5‑Day Provincial Option or National Development
Competition Opportunities: 7–10 sanctioned meets per season – swimmers are expected to attend most of them
LTAD Alignment: Swimming Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Stage 3 – Learn to Train, progressing toward Stage 4 – Train to Train.
