Volunteering

Volunteer Requirement:

In order to successfully operate a competitive Swim Ontario club, our club requires all families to volunteer for various roles throughout the season (i.e., board members, coaches, swim meet officials, etc.). The Hanover Swim Club will offer many volunteer opportunities throughout the season that will have points associated with them. New for the 2024-25 season, each family will be required to take an officials course and volunteer as officials at swim meets, in addition to the other volunteer requirements. This will support our club's need to develop officials to meet Swim Ontario requirements.

Agreement:

By registering my child(ren) with the Hanover Swim Club, I agree that my family will complete 20 volunteer points (10 points for swim school families), take an officials course and volunteer as an official at a swim meet this season. I further agree that if a volunteer form is not submitted by the date communicated by the club or not all volunteer requirements have been met, my account will be charged a volunteer fee up to $300 at the end of the season.

Fundraising

Fundraising Requirement:

In order to keep our registration fees as low as possible and to be financially sustainable, the Hanover Swim Club will have a variety of fundraising events throughout the season. The importance of fundraising cannot be overstated, as the club has only three main forms of revenue: registration fees, sponsorships, and fundraising. Furthermore, the club requires 90% registration to break even financially.

Agreement:

By registering my child(ren) with the Hanover Swim Club, I agree that my account will be charged a $200 fundraising raffle fee at the time of registration. This fee will pay for raffle tickets that can be sold to recoup the $200 raffle fee.

Additional Participation:

I also understand that I will be encouraged to participate in other fundraising activities throughout the year to help support the club. While these fundraising activities will be optional, they are very important to the financial viability of the club.
